IX festival of early medieval culture and castles which will be held on July 2 and 3 2020 in Izborsk, will bring together about 130 reenactors from Pskov, Moscow, St. Petersburg, Veliky Novgorod, Petrozavodsk, Saratov, Minsk, Tallinn.
For spectators and guests of the festival, an extensive program is provided, which will begin on July 2 from 11:30 at the Truvorov Settlement.
This year, the Central event of the event will again be interactive craft and craft workshops. Everyone will have the opportunity not only to observe the reconstruction of medieval technological processes of the castles, but also be able to take an active part in them.
In the program — preparation of ale, kvass, snacks; pottery modeling; bone and horn processing; manufacture of wooden utensils; weaving, sewing, knitting and weaving; making chain mail and cutting down armor plates; painting fabrics; making tar; sharpening tools; forging and stamping jewelry; plowing Rahl and plow; training in the intricacies of medieval hunting and fishing.
From 12:00 on a plateau over Gorodishchensky lake work of outlets and children's attractions will begin.
At 14:00 there will also be a parade-presentation of participants of the festival, "the Battle of the squads" (demonstration battle), military team competitions (competition of triples, "battle of the rooks") and personal military competitions ("Circle of Odin").
Ticket price — 100 rubles. With this ticket you can visit all the festival grounds and the ensemble of the Izborsk fortress of XIV - XVII centuries.
The festival is organized by the Museum-reserve "Izborsk", historical reconstruction clubs "Usadba" (Pskov) and "Valor of the centuries" (Tula) with the support of the administration of the Pskov region and the Russian military historical society.
