The Ministry of Finance is considering increasing the maximum term of the compulsory insurance policy from one year to three to five years 2020.
This was stated at a conference on compulsory liability insurance by the Deputy Director of the Department of Financial Policy of the Ministry of Finance Vera Balakireva. According to her, it is planned to transfer CTP for a longer period, not a year, but 3-5 years, but this is a more distant prospect.
The prolonged contracts will help to improve the financial stability of insurers, because companies in this case will be able to form reserves for a longer period for transport, RIA Novosti reports.
In addition, this initiative will contribute to savings on government spending on insurance under the public procurement system.
