In Russia, the composition of the accompanying documentation for cars will change in connection with the introduction of GOSTIn Russia, the composition of the accompanying documentation for cars will change in connection with the introduction of GOST to inform consumers about energy efficiency and environmental indicators of vehicles. RT read the text of the standard.

As noted in the GOST, informing consumers about energy efficiency indicators of a vehicle (how much energy and fuel is consumed) should be carried out by the manufacturer using the energy efficiency label.

This is a separate document that should contain information on how much carbon dioxide a vehicle emits, as well as how much gas, diesel, oil or natural gas is consumed per 100 km of traffic.

For electric vehicles, the label also needs to specify how much electricity this vehicle will consume and how much power reserve it has.

The energy efficiency label should be included in the set of accompanying documents that are attached to the vehicle during its sale and demonstration, according to GOST.

The standard applies to cars and trucks weighing up to 3.5 tons (with the exception of those whose production volume at the manufacturer does not exceed 2 thousand units per year).

The new GOST will enter into force on March 31, 2020.
According to RT in the press service of Rosstandart, previously this did not exist in Russia.

"In Russia, it is advisable to accumulate statistics on СО₂ emissions (both for the first time put into circulation by vehicles and the existing fleet), on the basis of which to determine your own policy regarding the regulation of СО₂ emissions, possibly harmonizing it with world development trends," they said in department.
Currently, the accompanying documentation for the car includes, among other things, the vehicle passport, service book and operation manual.

Earlier, Rosstandart approved GOST for vintage cars.
