The German automaker Mercedes-Benz is testing a prototype of the product version of the new S-Class coupe, the exterior design of which will almost completely coincide with the appearance of the conceptual "two-door".
Mercedes-Benz chief designer Jan Kaul said that the S-Class Coupe Concept car gives a complete picture of the design of the product version of the car, since the differences between the serial version of the coupe and the show car are supposed to be minimal. According to the brand’s chief designer, automotive artists will slightly change the design of the front two-door body and make the model higher and already concept by 30 and 20 mm, respectively. In addition, the commodity version of the machine instead of 21-inch wheels will receive wheels measuring 20 inches.
The interior of the coupe, although it will not be as futuristic as the concept, but will not change the overall style. It is known that two huge displays with a diagonal of 12.3 inches, a three-spoke steering wheel truncated in a sports manner in the lower part located on the center console, a block of control buttons of some onboard systems are transferred to a freight car in its original form of the Peugeot cars.
According to preliminary data, the range of engines "dvuhdverki" at first will include exclusively gasoline units in volume from 3.
Sales of the Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupe will start in the first half of next year.
