In the parking lot of the BMW test center, located near the Nurburgring, photographers took the first pictures of the prototype of the second-generation X6 SUV.
Getting acquainted with the car from the photographs, finding in the exterior of the X6 prototype any differences from the current version of the coupe-shaped crossover is not so simple. The designers of the model, having chosen the evolutionary path of development of the car stylistics, equipped the BMW X6 with modernized headlights with LED sections, a new front bumper, a modified rear bumper and an adjusted rear LED optics.
The interior of the second generation of the BMW X6 will largely resemble the interior design of the new X5 crossover, which premiered in late spring. According to preliminary information, the new X6 has similar body dimensions to its predecessor: the length of the car is 4,877 mm, width - 1,983 mm, height - 1,690 mm.
The range of engines of the second generation BMW X6 and Mercedes-Benz cars will be composed of gasoline and diesel engines, as well as a hybrid power plant, demonstrated by the example of the X5 eDrive show car. The concept car is equipped with a 4-cylinder internal combustion engine with two turbines and a 95-horsepower electric engine powered by a lithium-ion battery located under the hood.
It is expected that the premiere of the new BMW X6 will take place next year, sales of the car will start in early 2015.
