At the same time, the living wage for the able-bodied population will be 11 510 rubles, for pensioners - 8788 rubles, and for children - 10 383 rubles.

Rosstat: the share of Russians with incomes below the subsistence level has decreased
As noted in the explanatory note, compared with the third quarter, the cost of living decreased by 3.7% (for the able-bodied population - by 3.6%, for pensioners - by 3.3, for children - by 4.2). This is due to lower food prices, on the basis of which the indicator is calculated.

So, first of all, potatoes (by 25.8%), cabbage (by 18.2%), carrots (by 29.3%), as well as other vegetables, which make up a significant part of the consumer basket, became cheaper. In addition, prices for granulated sugar decreased (by 15.4%), pork and chickens became a little cheaper, and beef, milk and dairy products went up in price.

In the third quarter, the subsistence minimum amounted to 11 012 rubles, including among the able-bodied population - 11 942 rubles, among pensioners - 9090 rubles, among children - 10 838 rubles. The cost of a minimum set of food products in a consumer basket was 5080 rubles.

The cost of living is determined by the government to assess the standard of living in the country. Its value is used in the development and implementation of federal social programs, establishing the minimum wage, the amount of scholarships, allowances and other social benefits, as well as for the formation of the federal budget.
